After I reached my mid 30s I realised that my body was not reacting the same way after eating the exact same type of food I have eaten my entire life, I decided to take action before it was too late. It's easier to maintain your weight than trying to loose it, and in many aspects in not just about the weight but about the quality of foods one eats. Sometimes a bar of chocolate has less calories than half an advocado so it is about choosing the one that is actually going to fuel my body and that I would enjoy more. A bar of chocolate or any processed snack is out of the question now, I rather have fruit as snacks and water or coffee over "fruit" juice. I'm trying to enjoy what I eat so I don't see it as a punishment and "fast food" as a reward for good behaviour. The reward is the good, natural, tasty food I am now eating
