Day 3

Yesterday went fairly well, until I got to my friends house for our weekly get together. He always gets snacks, and every one bugs me about being "too skinny" so much I feel like I have to eat to prove that I'm not too skinny. I hate that, because at the end of the day it's me who has to be happy with what I see and not everyone else. Ergh...

If I could just make that 100 calorie change a day, eventually I would see the body I want to see. I looked it up, and it looks like I've been doing about 1500 calories a day (whereas I'd like to be at 1400)which puts me around 142 lbs. basal metabolic rate wise.

I know that I burn more than 100 calories a day, but still... ugh. It is so frustrating. It seems like I should be able to shut my mouth one more time a day than usual and get this done- but for some reason it is this tiny little mole hill of a mountain.

If I'm going to get where I'm going, I need to learn to ignore all the nay sayers. I need to just be a lady on a mission :)

I'm sure I'll tank Friday, just with drinking alone for New Year's Eve. I don't really want to wreck my holiday for my diet, but I don't want to wreck my diet for one holiday either. I'll keep it in moderation, sticking to diet tonic and gin or diet soda and whiskey like I always do. Just two, but then you add a glass of champagne and those suckers start adding up!

I realized yesterday that I haven't been eating enough protein. Most of my diet is carbs, even though they are whole grain- high fiber carbs, I need to increase the % of my diet that is made up by protein. I want to shoot for 100 grams of protein a day, although I will build up to that from the 60 or so I'm getting now over the next 2 weeks. I need to maintain my fiber, protein, and water intake- and hopefully if I do all of these things we'll be seeing a more toned 125 for surf season. :)

All I need then is for the pain in my shoulders to go down long enough to surf. Ha-ha! I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
