I am doing poorly on protein. I notice everytime I do the food journal my pie graph is heavy in fat and sugar. Super! Am diabetic so this is not so good. Went to visit the neuralogist today about my neck. I am only supposed to walk. I have been walking for 3 plus months. I am getting a little bored so I started doing the eliptical. I am able to do 20 minutes. Now I am working on getting my heart rate to like it at an acceptable level. I don't really understand the difference between cardio and fat burn. I will have to make that my education for the week. My goal will be to stick to vegtables and protein. I will also make it a goal to set up appointment with nutritionist to explain the diabetic issues. Working on getting divorced so trying to keep the stress eating down. Difficult though because I am not sure sometimes if I am hungry bored or hungry hungry. Funny coming from me...however this is one of my maintenance issues...along with getting enough sleep so my body can work probably.

I've read somewhere that the yellow vegetables are good for diabetics - pumpkin especially! I'm curious about cardio and fat burn too - and it would be interesting to know which level of exercise is best for countering type II diabetes, apparently exercise alone can reduce type II diabetic symptoms pretty much altogether in some people ...

Can you try adding protein for breakfast? Eggs or cottage cheese for example? Greek yoghurt? It does not have to be traditional breakfast.

I agree with Ingria, Eggs is a winner for protein for me. A two egg omelette, cooked in as little oil/butter as you possibly can. Just some seasoning and it keeps you full for such a long time! Or I'd imagine an egg white omelette if your fat is a problem, but I cant bring myself to exclude the yolks!
