I am surprised! Always thought Japanese people had healthier lifestyle. Keichan, friend on here came up with recipe to make sushi roll up without rice. Tastes fantastic! :-) Welcome home :-)

The reason everyone think Japanese people are healthy is that they don’t eat much FATTY foods. However, their main food is RICE and it goes well with SALTY things. That’s why they eat a lot of rice. Also, the reason they don’t eat less vegetables is that Japanese people prefer very clean look vegetables. So that grocery store wash vegetables using lots of water to take off dirt. This means grocery store add lot of price to the vegetables.

Always saddened to hear healthy foods are priced too high for everyone to enjoy.

During and just after WWW II death from heart related issues was almost unheard of. . Now they have McDonaldks, KFC and many of the others so they have pretty much caught up with us.

@Alfredo4321, do they have regulations/consultations that help with high blood pressure or disease caused from high salt content? Just wondering.

Issues like salt are another reason I appreciate FS Food Diary. Shocking to realize the amount of salt added into foods.

Thank you all for your comments. I loved to hear many kinds of opinion. During my trip to Japan, I saw only one girl was obviously obesity. Japanese people use public transportation like train and bus to commute for work. They walk or use bicycles from home to the station. I think they are much better than Western style life. However I think they are in YELLOW flashing to their health wise since they eat more foods like Western style as Kenna indicated. Thank you everyone again. I enjoy FS!
