I ended up unexpectedly walking for 4.5 hours yesterday while looking for my keys that I lost at a flea market, as I watched the hubby's plane fly overhead (he won't be home for Christmas). After giving up the search & having to call I locksmith & finding out that a replacement car key was going to cost $200, with literal blisters on my feet (does anyone else lose/gain weight in their feet?), I went to the Mexican restaurant that was around the corner and had a quesadilla de asada & a can of REAL coke. FTW...lol. I am thankful that I had the funds for the replacement key & made it home in time for "Christmas" with the grandbabies!

Thanks, LB! They had a ball opening gifts & I had a ball watching them! 😁 Even after a terrible day, I always look for positives. I tell my kids that the negatives have a tendency to slap us in the face sometimes, but more often than not we have to search for the positives. They were easy to find yesterday, but are often alot harder to realize. It's important for my mental health to practice this. 😉

once, when my kids were babies, I locked myself out of the house and had to call a locksmith. I know the car keys cost more, but that fellow still charged me $90. Painful and I sympathize.

Sounds familiar. My husband has lost both original fobs for his truck. $435 replacement and not even a Ram key...bad time indeed.

Glad you had the grandbabies there to sooth you, that's a stressful time when you find yourself stranded like that! At least you were able to find a locksmith who could replace the key immediately rather than have to wait for it for a few days, that happens often around here as the locksmiths nearby usually have to order the more specialized chip keys. You are never so happy to own an old Ford till you have to have new keys made!!

yes, stress can be very damaging mentally and physically. I do understand the importance in looking at situations from a positive perspective. aka 'livin breezy' is an adopted mindset. Certainly, does help having grandchildren to love 🥰

For those of you that have lost your FOB keys you can replace them for about $80 by purchasing an unprogrammed key on the internet then having a locksmith program it. I lost my BMW key a few years ago and the dealer wanted over $200 to replace it I started digging and found an OEM replacement key for about $40 and my locksmith programmed it for another $40. Works great and $80 as a lot better than $210 and it only took the locksmith about 30 minutes to complete the programming.

HoneeBuns I drive a 2016 Kia Soul and I love it dearly, when I bought it, it only had one key so I guard it with my life because it's a 400 buck key.

Thanks, guys! 💜 The key I got was a plain Jane, unlike my other one with all of the buttons (one like the original would have been $275), so now the alarm goes off everytime I unlock my car door (manually)...lol. As far as the hubby, this is the first Christmas we've spent apart in 23 years, but this is also the first Christmas he has spent with his mom in 24 years. I'm going to miss him, but I am more happy for him & his mom than I am sad for me. I'm not that selfish. I'm just over here flowing like water. 😌
