Frustrating to see the scales going the other way, but have been running or cycling every day for the last few weeks. Up to 7 km with my runs, but appetite has increased too! The gain is partly muscle as my body's adapting to the new exercise regime, but also eating more. Have got to stay in control of these food cravings.

Exercise does increase appetite. There is no getting round that. The running and cycling will do wonders for your health but not a lot for your weight. As long as you are aware of that, it won't be an issue.
