i hadn't planned to journal today i am just so blahhhhh haunting the asm trying to keep motivated. i have been back on track for 5 days now and am not loosing anything. i know it is because i keep slipping and as amanda says each time you get off track it takes even longer for your body to relax and accept that it is not going to get the carbs back. i think i will go out today and get a cloth tape and start measuring for a bit instead of the scale. i need to start exersizing again. but i know that will stop the weight loss to.
life at home is getting uncomfortable but just don't seem to focus and make logical decisions instead of an emotional one. seems like my mind and my heart have split ways and it is difficult to function when they are not on the same page.

Feeling torn between head and heart, is your spirit telling you you're really not ready to make that decision just yet. Relax and back off, if you can; you'll know when you're ready to make decisions you feel comfortable making and can live with. If ASM is kind of quiet, you can always hop on over to Atkins. Sometimes you can find pretty long, intense, but interesting discussions on certain matters. OR you could also browse recipes on either site, looking for Thanksgiving possibilities. If you've been on track for 5 days with no loss, then your loss must be just around the corner! You're closing in on a new decade....

Laura, I am sorry that you are feeling a bit ambivalent in your journey right now. We all get there from time to time, and while I know how hard it is to get back on track after a brief detour, you have done it before, and I have complete confidence in your ability to do so again. I am wondering though if the pumpkin pie you made this week, may have something to do with you lack of loss. I am not sure how much of it you are eating, but I do know that when I make one of the cream pies, I only allow myself 1/16th of a pie, 2 times a week. It is really good, but seems to reawaken my cravings, so I have to be verrrry careful with it. I think when I make the pie for Thanksgiving, I am going to cut the recipe into fourths and only make 1/4 of one at a time to keep from over-indulging. As for exercising stopping the weight loss, it surely does seem to slow it down, doesn't it. But we know that is just because of the increased muscle mass (weighs more than fat), and our muscles hold onto water when they are sore, and let's face it, the exercise makes our muscles VERY sore. I really do think though, that if you can just get going with the exercise and stick to it, in a week or two, the weight will start to come off again. Just don't give up!!!! If I can do anything at all to help, please let me know...I am just a short pm away, dear heart.

Oh, and Laura, since the 1st of October, you have lost 10 pounds, and that is with the slight gain on your last weigh in! That is fantastic! I wish I was having that kind of success!!

And one more thing...I am like a bad penny, just keep coming back, lol...YES DO THE MEASUREMENTS!!! You may be very surprised at just how much you are shrinking when you aren't losing!

Hang in there hon. I totally agree with Stef. We are all here anytime you want to PM any of us. I have faith that you will make the right choices in what ever you do. Keep strong and remember, we are all doing the same thing and we are here to give support when needed. Hope things lighten you heart and mind soon, my friend. Take care.:)
