I feel for you. But I don't think I could do 500 calories/day for even a few days. I would a ravenous monster!!

It is a terrible diet. Do research on it. They will gain the weight back plus. A girl in my office did it, and now she is bigger than when she started! I even think there is an entry here with good info about the negs about that diet.
Slow and steady wins the race!

Good thread. Wouldn't you agree that everything is permissible and helpful when approached with discipline and moderation? As a person sows, so will they reap! Let's keep doing what we know will help us be healthy and alive and let other people worry about quick-fixes and fads that don't really address the imbalances that are robbing them of life. On a side note, I have struggled with this my whole life, but I do know there is no magic bullet. :)

I find that instant gratification doesnt usually work for me. I understand your frustration but know if you concentrate on changing your eating habits you will get there slower but this isnt a race. You are doing the right thing. Have to go with the husband here lol.

I have questions about how healthy it is? Something that causes someone to lose 30 pounds in one month seems too good to be true!

I knew I could count on my fatsecret friends!!!! Went to the gym and did my 8 miles on the bike, and now I'm baking my salmon and just roasted some tomatoes, and will stir-fry some spinach. I feel much better - you know you just have to be whiny sometimes - yes, I'll have cheese with my whine lol

Hey hey don't do it!!!!! it's much better for you to lose weight slowly as you will keep it off remember this is a lifestyle change for the rest of your life not a crash diet which will not be maintainable for long. I watched a programme called the biggest loser earlier this year and the personal trainers there said that if you eat less than 1000 calories a day it is dangerous and any weight that you lose is off of your muscles not your fat cells. Stick with it my friend and i'm sure you we soon see som good results xx

I would pass out on only 500 calories a day! Doesn't sound safe or smart. I think you are doing it the right way!! The reason fad/crash diets don't work is because they are short term. It has to be a lifestyle change a choice to be healthy.
