Good morning, FS! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Mine was very joyous. While I didn't count calories, everything on the menu was freshly homemade and approved by ME. I had a room decorated for my grandbaby that WAS on the way, but the baby was miscarried. So... I cleaned out that room yesterday, and now have room for my weight bench and weights again. I will get that straightened back out this weekend, and start back with "Beast Body" routine Monday. No more excuses!
Woke up in ketosis and feeling pretty good this morning. I think I'll skip the BPC for now, and head out for a nice walk instead.
I hope everyone has a fabulous Friday! :)

WARNING More self reflecting..lol
So, I just finished reading "The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living". I recommend this book to anyone who doesn't excel on a low fat diet. It covers SO much scientifically, medically, and more. It has answered every question I had about everything, including protein intake.
I sit here and am amazed how well I can comprehend writings like these now. When I first started the ketogenic diet a couple of years ago, I would have to read a 1/2 page business letter 3-4 times to be able to understand what it was trying to say. I would be at the doctors every month screaming,"Fix me! I'm literally losing my mind." It had gotten so bad that I could barely even mentally process the 1-2-3 process of just doing simple daily tasks like washing dishes. Tonight, I just completed reading 279 pages of complex reading in just a few days, along with constantly ringing you all's ears, taking care of the kids, preparing to make Thanksgiving diner, etc. Although I slipped away from the Keto diet over the past year or so, thank God I didn't get so far back into the HEAVILY toxic carbs that was the main cause of my brain fog, anxiety, depression, hypertension, and obesity, though I could have done a lot better by staying completely on track.
How did I ever leave such a wonderful lifestyle plan that had dramatically improved my life?? It started a bite here and there, and before I knew it a year to a year and a half had passed. I take full responsibility for my actions. My name is Lee, and I am a carboloholic.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY: We all know that on a "normal" diet we are supposed to eat X amount of calories a day to keep the metabolism healthy. Most people on a ketogenic diet know that their body has under gone a metabolic change that allows their body to "feed" straight off of body fat (even at a resting state) once dietary fat has been used up for energy. Keto dieters also know that they aren't supposed to force feed. So, the question (and my theory) is that as long as you get adequate protein, body fat makes up for the rest of the "needed" caloric intake. In other words, as long as you're getting adequate protein total caloric intake should not be a factor, right?
Any research suggestions or speculation is appreciated. It maybe in the book I'm reading, but maybe I just haven't gotten that far yet.
