So tonight i wanted a late night snack, and instead of pudding or popcorn, i had some strawberries with fat free cool whip. sweet urge satisfied with way less guilt!

Had two servings at dinner and ate semi-unconciously while watching tv. Not my best, but not a bad calorie count considering. Especially considering I almost bought a donut at the grocery store! I still need to work on stopping when I know I'm full. Oh well, I know I'm better at it than I was this time last year. It's a process, but I'm making positive changes day by day.

I've been trying to walk a mile on my lunch breaks at work, but I think I got mild heat stroke on Friday (temp was apparently a record-setting 96), and we're in a heat advisory for most of this week, so I walked about a mile indoors instead. I did get a compliment from one of my supervisors about my weight loss, which, considering I haven't lost much scale-wise (and only started measuring myself 5 days ago), I found pretty encouraging. Sooooo, still feeling pretty good about this whole deal. And today has been easier than last week, less snack urges. Plus, even on my "free day" I ate less than 1400 calories! Trying to get my water consumption up is my next goal. I'm better about it than I was this winter, but not as good as I know I should be, especially with my increase in exercise and the increase in heat.

So, I had to sort of guesstimate on some of the calories today, but I'm pretty sure I ate less calories today, on my free day, than I did yesterday and some of the other days this week. But I wasn't really ever hungry today, and I did try to be more mindful of my portions, which is something I noticed the last time I was on a low calorie diet also. I'm hoping this work week goes easier than last week as I get used to my new schedule (both work-wise and meal-wise!)

The scale went back up a pound, but i'm going to try to wait a few more days to weigh myself. i have a cheap dial scale, so i try not to stress out about minor fluctuations. also, today is my free day!!! and we're going to a renaissance festival - watch out foods on sticks!
