Hard times. I was at the edge of a breakthrough back on August 15th. Got down all the way near 205lbs.. I was so into it I pushed harder than ever... despite the fact that my arthritis was troubling me... and then disaster. pushing towards zone 5 in the pool, thought I had a cramp... got worse and worse... limped I from the pool... next day could hardly get out of bed... hamstring and calf hurting.. day after my calf was swollen and red and hurt so bad I thought I had a blood clot. went to ER, then to Orthopedic guy...diagnosed ... grade 2 hamstring and calf tears and serious achilles strain... my whole leg was black and blue from ankle to hip... hurt so bad... was on bedrest for 6 weeks and had to do 3 months of physical therapy... never thought muscle strains/tears could be so severe... I am just now gearing back in the pool. worst part? I gained 35 freaking pounds while I was in bed or limping around in a walking boot... still not fully healed, but struggling back.

So very sorry for your injury. Sounds like it was pretty significant. Balls to the wall is not always a good thing, especially if you are not accustomed to the activity. Moderation in all things is a good approach.

Wise words, Kenna! I'm definitely going to be more cautious in the future.
