I'm not sure what's going on with my weight atm.
It was my birthday last week and while I binge ate on chinese food takeaway (oh it has been years since I had any and it was heavenly!) but I saw the endocrinologist this am and my weight is actually down from 177? I won't be surprised if it goes back up but it was a nice surprise anyway.

This morning was a visit to the endocrinologist.

Which is a frustrating situation because it's been more than 8months since I was last seen. (I say frustrating because during that time frame every appointment I had was cancelled, rescheduled and cancelled again by them. Which as someone who likes to keep tabs on their health and how my body is doing with regard to the ways that type 2 diabetes can affect your body (neuropathy, kidney, eyes etc). is less than ideal. It puts the onus on me to see my primary care physician more to try to keep those things under supervision.

It was also disappointing because I expected more of a conversation and plan of what has been going on with both my A1C and weight loss.

Let me be clear: the last time I saw him I was 24 pounds heavier.
I'd have liked something more than "you lost some weight."
I'm NOT looking for a pat on the back.

What I AM looking for is to find out more about how the weight loss impacts my management of the diabetes, or possibly if there's a goal I should aim for that may make managing the diabetes better (right now my current goal weight is something I picked out of a hat.... But no. Nothing.
In my attempts to draw more light on the subject I got told that yes, weight loss is good but medication is more important.

Candidly speaking, I'll see my primary care physician at the end of this month and I'll talk to her. She doesn't seem to be annoyed or aggravated when I ask questions about my treatment. Meh.

My A1C:
I've been working harder on lowering and managing that than I have been my weight. (that might be an ass-backwards way of doing things, I don't know).
So when I was initially diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes was on 1-22-2021

-----My A1C History----

A1C = 11.4% (1-22-2021)
A1C = 8% (3-7-2022)
A1C = 6.7% (6-23-2022)
A1C = 6.5% (9-29-2022)

So again, considering that he hasn't seen me since it was at 8% I would have thought we'd discuss that, or if there are further things that I can do to continue trying to manage it and lower it. Nope. Just "Take your medications. You will need to be on them forever."
Okay, look, I'm not expecting to spontaneously become non-diabetic. I get it. But I want to know that I might be able to manage it better (and what exactly IS a reasonable goal for my A1C? He's the Endocrinologist. He ought to know the answer. :( But the answer I got was "As low as you can get it." Which isn't a helpful answer.

Anyway this is how things are at the moment.
(if I sound kind of salty and short-fused I'm also in the process of trying to sell our house and it's made things really stressful).
