I know.... it can be frustrating... but, I am patient. This is a long journey. I am overall doing well. 2 1/2 to 4 lb weight loss a week. That's great!

It's not linear. For me, it works better not to weigh myself, because for me personally, the number is a big distraction from bigger factors in health progress. Dropped a lot of bulk over 18 months doing relatively LC; I was definitely better off not knowing about number fluctuations. I notice a lot of energy spent here on talking oneself through and comforting others on disappointment around weight numbers. If that works, great. If it's a hanger-on from 1950s diet medicine, maybe worth re-evaluating?

i have no scale at my house now either...tell by my clothes and once in a while i weigh in at the doc office....just to keep track...scales sabotage my results. I obsess too much about it.....I know at 62 and a life of dieting what to eat and what not to eat, what to have in the hose and what to not have.....hungry? add some protein as a snack a a bit of fruit.....I just play it by ear and keep good stuff in the house...no bad foods only bad portions

So good to hear I'm not alone here, Guitarmama and Paula. For a long time, I did err on the side of actively avoiding numbers, but at this point maybe that's just giving them too much power. Recently I did find out my weight; it's "interesting but not really." For now I'm much more concerned with working on my rotator cuffs (small shoulder muscles that keep joint in place) and loosening up chest muscles, while strengthening back, to reduce hunch and forward neck. Also in increasing bone density. --- @Swilliamson, member Egull1 is writing entries about taking what they call a "maintenance break." Might be useful to read and consider? It's different for everyone, but for some it could make sense to maintain for a while every ten pounds or so. These are *deep* changes after decades of whatever we've been doing that wasn't working for us.

Thanks for the comments! I really appreciate them! I didn't own a scale for 20 something years and got weighed at the doctor's office twice a year. I couldn't lose much needed weight doing that. I think it is important to go by how my clothes fit too. I need to have a scale at this point. The numbers don't matter as much as the long term weight loss. I am patient about how this is going to be a long process. When I hit the weight range I want, I will buy the new clothes size and gauge how those clothes fit me. like the old days not long ago.... I just didn't do well without a scale, but that's me right now.
