Well, I've sort of gone to "intuitive" calorie counting for the few weeks since Thanksgiving week, but I haven't gained any weight. I think I'll go back to serious counting tomorrow.
However, I have learned I've gotten a lot better at telling what foods make me fat, and it seems to me my calories vary a lot more wildly than they used to (some days I only eat around 900, some days I eat around 1400 -- it seems to me calories are less important than eating fairly healthy -- I mostly focus on eating things that will fill me up, and not make me fat). If I'm craving protein/fat I eat eggs, a hunk of cheese (like 9 to 20 grams of fat's worth), or eggs and lean meat--then I try to avoid sugar for several hours, but if I'm craving sugar I try to avoid fat for several hours. If I eat something TRULY "naughty" (say a piece of pie, a small serving of fries, or a candy bar), I won't eat anything else for several hours. I've minimized pancakes and fried foods other than eggs and turkey bacon.
Basically, I've dropped my plateau to 148. I think exercising will help me break this plateau, because my calorie intake is around 1100 average and that's lowish.

I was not inspired by the Twinkie diet guy, but somehow I managed to live on ice cream, pie, and baked beans all weekend. With the exception of a BLT. Hmm. Not a good idea.
HOWEVER...my overall calorie content was <1200 (per day)...
and I lost a pound.
Oookeee.
