My alarm went off at 5:30 AM for me to go walk. Then a flash of lightning and crash of thunder said, "Not today, Bud." So I went right back to sleep. No exercise this morning and WAY too much for dinner last night mean gotta really watch what I eat today...

Almost to 4 miles in my morning walk. It is not a matter of actually walking the extra .33 miles, but finding the pavement to walk on. Will continue to tweak.

Over the weekend, I went to the local Tractor Supply Store to buy some cat feed. (No that is not a typo. When you feed your cats, every stray in the neighborhood, plus opossum, squirrels, birds and every other animal that can get into our back yard, you have to buy 40 lb feed bags.)
Since I am just running in, grabbing the food, and checking out, I did bother with a shopping cart. Threw the food over my shoulder and proceeded to the checkout (after stopping to see the baby ducks and chicks of course). There was a long line. So I am standing there with the 40 lb bag balanced on my shoulders across the back of my neck for about 10 minutes. It is starting to get really heavy and my back starts to hurt a bit and I am thinking, "maybe I should have gotten a buggy after all."
Then it hits me. This is the weight I have lost! I was carrying around this extra 40 lbs for years! It was a reality check. When you were as large as I was (and still am) losing 40 lbs doesn't seem like much. I still have 127 to go after all. When I stood there, however, holding that extra weight, seeing how much I have lost actually weighs It really hit me. I have already accomplished something with the weight I have lost. My body doesn't have to carry around that extra poundage. It is real motivation to carry on!
